Many talented artists struggle not because their work lacks quality, but because they were never taught how to professionally position, present, market, and sell their work in today’s evolving art world. The Business of Art Intensive is a practical, artist-focused workshop designed to help creatives build confidence and clarity around the professional side of being a working artist. Through real-world examples, guided discussions, and actionable strategies, participants will explore topics including artist branding, defining an audience, writing artist bios and statements, pricing artwork confidently, improving online presence, using social media intentionally, preparing for shows and galleries, presenting work professionally, and developing simple business systems for sales, inventory, and collector relationships.

This workshop is designed for emerging and established artists alike who want to strengthen the foundation of their creative business without feeling overwhelmed or inauthentic. Day One focuses on core concepts, strategy, and professional development, while Day Two provides additional time for implementation, discussion, feedback, and individualized coaching related to participants’ own artistic goals and business challenges. Participants will receive workshop materials and guided resources to continue applying what they learn long after the class concludes.

Saturday, October 24 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (30-minute lunch break)

Sunday, October 25 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Lunch Option for October 24: Participants may bring their own lunch or place an order from Sugar Shack BBQ at the start of class. Menus will be provided, and participants may pay individually by cash, Cash App, PayPal, or Venmo. Orders will be picked up prior to the lunch break.

Tuition: $200 for current NBAL members $250 for non-members
